The USS Warrington (DD-843) was hit by Mk36 mines on July 17, 1972, while cruising off North Vietnam. After being towed back to Subic Bay with severe damage, the ship underwent an INSURV board and was decommissioned on October 1, 1972, and sold to the Republic of China in June 1973.
